Enclosing the Pots
After willing the tray to soak your seed pots, the next step is to affix a lid over them to seal in moisture. The photograph below shows the transparent lid is fitted to the seed tray.
Look at the condensation covering the lid and indicating the totally saturated conditions inside! You will have noticed by now that this method closely emulates the baggie method. I leave the seeds in the water for 7–10 days, maybe longer in extreme cases, until the majority of the seeds seem to have germinated. At this stage the seeds need warmth and light. I keep mine on the top of a large tropical aquarium, in a south-facing conservatory. Don't underestimate just how warm it can get inside the covered tray on a sunny day!
